Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

today, Wrangler and I said Goodbye to Brutus and Neffy, Dutch, Wilma, Betty, Isis, Coral, Delilah, Josephine, Opal and Penny. tomorrow, almost all the rest are going, all but a few roosters or cockerels, but a couple of them are chosen... my neighbor said to bring up whatever is left on Sunday - I'll give her the feeders, I have 4 30 lbs'ers... those come in handy. I gave the folks who came today a stack of rubber bowls and the big cans I store food in... all but one, so I can feed whoever is here until Sunday, then my neighbor can have that can too...
I didn't take pics, mostly because I was busy catching birds and a bit filthy and Wrangler had mostly sad faces on... we'll go visit them on Saturday for a short bit. I'll take pics then.

What a sad day.

I know you are rushing the move, but wondering, even if you had the time, you still probably would have had to rehome the flock. Maybe it's better that it is happening relatively quickly. I know it would be for me. I'm sure the chickens will get good care from the people you chose, and at least they are together with their flock mates. It's so hard though, the list of all the names. I still haven't advertised the serama cockerels I need to find homes for. Too sad. Breaks my heart thinking about what you did today.

I think I killed BYC. No activity on any of my threads in a while.
Three chicks out. 21 days starts now (hatching app counts days wrong). One is malpositioned. It was fine until I decided I wanted it out. Pretty sure it's fine. I have to be sure it isn't choking on blood before I go to bed.
Two more pips I can see. Moms had one by ten this morning.

yesterday was insane... I was up at 6 AM to get rid of as much trash as possible because I wasn't sure what time the dumpster was going to be pick up... then my Stillwater NY friends came and took 5 bantam pullets, and a friend of theirs came right after and took the last of the large fowl hens and one bantam pullet that is a bit bigger than a standard bantam. the only residents of the Dome are Royce and his son, I should have boxed them up last night and taken them to the wildlife sanctuary... but I was spent. I'll do it tonight. I have 10 bantams left. all will go to my neighbor up the road.

I'm leaving in 15 minutes to pick up the moving truck and trailer. loaders coming at 1... cutting it a bit close, but U-Haul would not let me pick it up until noon.... very annoying. it's only 20 minutes away so it's fine. but honestly, I'm a wreck. nervous, twitchy... slept terribly last night, bad dreams about having a house and 2 apartments all at once... that I failed to pay rent on one and the landlord was hollering at me and the other apartment I forgot to go to and the chickens were all half dead... so I was up very early despite not falling asleep until past midnight. it's almost over - that's my mantra...

Oh, I hate those stress dreams! Seems like we should dream to relieve the stress, not add to it, but it never works that way.

Good luck today, my friend. It is almost over. About to end a chapter and start a whole new book.
Another hug is in order.
