I hope this is the case, the leghorns have not started laying yet, and I don't particularly want to keep them all locked up until they do, I got 4 beautiful brown eggs this morning, but still no white ones, despite all being the same age, and the fact that leghorns are known to lay young. That's great that they're laying in the boxes, and they do seem to prefer privacy when laying. Some new layers will produce the oddest eggs. Just takes time to get the plumbing in order. Mine are out every day and will go back to the coop to lay. Once one or two start, the rest tend to follow.
Looking at the beautiful egg basket of yours cheeka, I'm looking forward to spring, I'm going to get a few colorful layers with next years batch of meat birds.
