Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Snow....single digits......Getting ready to dive into it for another exciting day in the outdoors. Roger likes to eat.....lol....... On my way with your water and scratch Roger. Don't call PETA yet.

Brrrrr! Wind chill factor is in the single digits sometimes negative. We are not used to this. At least not for several years. The wind has howled all night. Hope the chickens are all toasty in the coop with their down coats!

we got 14" of powdery snow, and it's cccccccold! it's 3 below, feels like 15 below, and with the 35 mph wind gusts, it can feel closer to 25 below. to be honest, I didn't think it was all that bad, I was out really early to shovel a path for the dogs, and to take care of the chickens, had my snow bibs on, a not too heavy jacket, earmuffs, no hat, and warm gloves. my face was chilled when I was finished, but I had taken a few gusts in the face too... I must have some thick blood... I would love to call in sick so I can really clean up here, but I shouldn't. so I won't.

Cheeka I couldn't function. Although I did run out this morning in my robe and bare feet because Ratchet followed the big kids to the bus.

I remember getting feet of snow when I was little but we haven't had a really bad winter in years. We might get several inches but nothing like what you get. Stay warm and be safe!

the sun is shining, the sky is seriously blue... and it's all an illusion. it is 0*. work was terrible, the mail was late and the roads were not cleared well because it's too cold for the salt to work.

I collected 5 Eggs - one has a hairline crack that may seal... I've got to get outside and do some work while I have daylight...

Supposed to reach -15 by monday here, its insane! We have another 8-12 inches on the way. 3 regular eggs today! 2 of 3 went to the pig, they were eggcicles and cracked wide open, ugh!
Finally, real eggs again!

Suppose to go to 0 tonight. Which is the coldest it's been in a couple of years!!! We got about 8-10 inches of light fluffy snow... So I thought I'd do a good indoor project! Am reorganizing my craft room/office. New paint color and some shelving does wonders!

Chickies got scrambled eggs again this morning! There has got to be something wrong with buying eggs to feed chickens that aren't providing any?????

According to the weather-man, next week we are supposed to have the lowest temps that we have had in 20 years! I would have been 8!!!!!

it's already 5 below, but not supposed to get much colder before morning. I think it supposed to be in the 20's tomorrow - that will feel like a heat wave...lol. I'm not a huge fan of being all bundled up, makes it hard to move around and do stuff, but I have all the gear - when it's this cold, the old ski clothes come in really handy - lightweight yet seriously thermal.

my Dad had a great turnaround yesterday, such improvement that he was discharged to home this afternoon! he's so happy to be home! best place to get well once he was hydrated, oxygenated and antibacterialized...so glad he didn't pick up something else during his stay! poor guy got bronchitis, influenza A and pneumonia - totally knocked down and susceptible to everything. my Mom is so relieved and has recovered from her bout with the flu.

fed the cracked egg to my Min Min kitty. it didn't quite seal - it did, but there was one droplet of albumen on the outside. just figured it was smart to give it to the cat...
