George is running in circles around the incubator, playing football. I want another sibling to hatch for her. I may be hearing faint peeps from another internal pip. Or, I may be imagining it. C'mon chickies!

what a day! it's downright frigid... but the flock was fine, and the girls laid 7 Eggs!

I got to go to the big city for Chinese buffet and a movie - this buffet is terrific and now even more so! several dishes were actually labelled gluten free! some of those dishes I've never had because they looked like they couldn't be safe... either the coating or the sauce... so I got to try bites of 5 new dishes! honey chicken and the "snow" chicken are the toss up for the best.

we saw American Hustle, which was good. a bit slow to start, but good with a fun twist at the end.

turned the cell phone back on, and had missed calls. only 1 was important. my Dad is in the hospital. he had bronchitis before Christmas, then picked up the flu, shared it with my Mom, and now he has pneumonia. he's almost 82. they are pumping him full of antibiotics and fluids. spoke with Mom, she's worried, but I think I was able to put her mind at some ease. prayers are welcome.

I'm basically going to be a shut in for the rest of the season... And no handshaking from now on til flu season is over. It may seem rude but I really don't want to get sick.

It was a very chickie day! I gave the girls scrambled eggs and watermelon. They ate the eggs right up but only one brave silkie was game for the melon...

I also got the run reinforced w hardware cloth so the pop door was open for the first time. Guess who came out first?

Only Phyllis and one of the BCM were brave enough to actually step footing the ground

On another note we found out that our puppy was born yesterday. We were in limbo because the original momma wasn't pregnant so we were waiting for another mom to go into heat. Turns out there was some illicit lovin' going on because the breeder found the dog in the woods last night with a litter of 8 puppies!!!! Can't wait! This is a Great Pyr puppy!! So excited. We pick her up Mar 1st and on May4th she'll have goats to bond with and guard!!!

Ooooooh congrats, thats the dog I really want the most! I am still torn between aussie, pyr or even border collie.

OH no, prayers and best wisher for your Dad. Pneumonia is bad at any age, terrible on the elderly.
I love our chinese buffet! We have a "Authentic" one thats family owned, and has been here 14 years I have lived in the area, betting much longer!

I have 3 EE girls laying now because I got 8 eggs today and 3 were blue or green! We went to the store this evening and when we got back home 2 chickens were roosting outside. Rogue and a comet..... hubby put the comet up and I went to get Rogue. He pecked me and so he is still out. I am so tired of not being able to touch him for anything.

No pips. No chirps. I got nuttin' from the rest of the eggs. But, I found someone in the town where I live who was hatching and plan to meet her tomorrow and buy a chick from her to keep poor George company and prevent her from growing up into a sociopathic loner.

Jchny I love border collies and they are my favorite. I was actually looking when dad decided that the kids needed this heeler pup. Oh well, maybe when the Dane is gone.

Cheeka prayers for both your dad and mom! Hope they get better soon! My 3year old is sick today with a 102-103 fever.

Rogue needs an attitude adjustment for sure. Maybe a night outside will wake him up! I cleared out a LOT of roosters the last few weeks for the same reason, including Rebel. That was a hard choice but he went right back to the same cruel habits

He would mount a hen, leave her penned and peck her comb! Done!!! 2 hens bloody the first day he was back in the pen!!! He went to the freezer with the rest

Red still missed the freezer list, he is been well behaved for several months. Spring is coming so we will see...
