Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Wow, that's a big one! Wonder if it's a double yolker. What kind of chicken lays that little putty colored to the right of the big one? I get one of those from a New Hampshire. Lots of extra bloom on it or something, but when it's wet, it looks like a typical brown egg.

Congratulation on your first real egg sale. Must have freed up some space in the frige!

Hope you feel better soon. Those kid germs are killer. Try sucking on those zinc lozenges (Cold-eeze). Really works for us.
All my browns come from my Golden comets! That one is probably Phoebe's egg, because hers and one others usually have a pinkish tint to them! Once they have been washed, you can't really tell them apart....

Thanks, and yes it did free up space! My aunt and uncle in law also picked up 2 dozen the same morning! Well, they got them all and delivered the 4 dozen to the customer who is their friend! I think they are going to be getting eggs regularly which is AWESOME! Definitely will help with the feed bill!

Thanks again! I usually don't get sick, but with 4 little ones it is bound to catch up with me eventually! Oh well, I'll be ok in a day or two! I may have to try those! I keep Vit.C drops around, and suck on those if anyone is sickly or I feel like I am catching something!

nice eggs lindz! I've had super jumbo's that I was sure were double yolks, but weren't... the single yolk was huge and certainly enough to feed a developing chick... Isis and Beulah lay super jumbo's regularly, and I plan to breed them.

they downgraded our storm, but we still got over 3" so far and it hasn't stopped snowing yet. because they said we weren't going to get hit so hard, I took my car rather than the truck. BIG Mistake. I made it... didn't have any major problems, but I couldn't get up one driveway at all, and there were 4 stops on the uphill side that I skipped til I was retracing and on the downhill... I dismounted and walked to the boxes... if I had stopped on the way up, I would never have gotten going forward again. the studs on the tires are pretty much worn to nothing so I really hope this is the last storm. I have lots of tread, just no studs...eh... I got them last year, used them all winter, so I did well getting through a second season with them.

off to check on the flock - I got one Foster egg first thing this morning, hoping for a second.... and at least 10 from the Dome... I want a dozen today if'n I have to squeeze one of 'em! I need to bring a dozen with me tomorrow, dude from the NYS Power Authority left me some $$

ANOTHER CRACKED EGG TODAY!

This morning at 5:30 a.m. I go to check on the girls with a treat in hand. Penny is in the coop laying an egg but I give the treats out anyway. About 30 minutes later, I check to see how the egg laying is going and Penny is out of the coop.... not singing the egg song, but screaming in protest that SHE did not get any treats!

I laughed my butt off... and I gave her treats.
