What the heck made this track??? at first I thought Zauk... but I see no toe nail marks - and can't tell from the fainter track just above and to the right.

Cheeka,
Zauk did leave the track.... Not sure why the nails didn't show... There were some crazy answers on FB!
That shot is looking through the woods behind the coop and run!

if his nails are well trimmed, they wouldn't leave a big mark, so when the snow melts, the mud sort of fills in the small dent. I was reading the posts on FB and noticed that Fresh Eggs Daily shared it! congrats for being featured! I had a suspicion that it was Zauk. I even said it out loud... ask Chester!

If anybody needs bugs cleaned up around their yard I am looking for a summer job. I'm not cheap but I do a good job. PM me if interested. I have my own transportation.

Plus, this evening, I moved George and Astrid to the grow out coop! I keep going out with a flashlight and checking on them. They seem content. I imagine they will be much happier in the morning, when it gets light out, and they realize they have space to stretch their wings and explore.

Only 4 eggs today.

Yesterday was a big day, though. 7 big girl eggs, 1 Serama egglet, and believe it or not, one Cochin egg! It had to come from the mean red Cochin, she's the only one with a large comb. Small little egg, not much bigger than the egglets, and I think it is probably fertile, given the state of the feathers on the back of her neck. And the roosters in that pen were gorgeous! Now I wish I had an incubator because I would try to hatch it! I'm planning on taking her back home this weekend, so if she lays a couple more I might try to rig up a hodge podge incubator and see if I can coax a chick or 3 to hatch.

And so it begins...

She also laid a soft egg today. 3 more days to give me a couple more. Bwahahaha!

Maybe that's why she's grumpy. Needs to unload some eggs. Come on Grumpy!
