Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I came in from outside to change my silly post because I was worried it might offend you. You guys took it in the exact spirit I meant. More hugs!

No more Cochin eggs yet.

Its funny, because I wrote what I did... then realized who wrote it and felt silly, because you know how well she can guesstimate! But I left it...

Hopefully you will get a couple more before you take her back if thats what you decide. She may settle down soon, and you keep her!

I'm actually sad now cause I was imagining all the olive eggers I was getting. What's funny is these two boy have boy tendencies. The one was huge so much earlier than her sister but her sister crows!!!

Ok Cheeka when are those two gonna lay? Born oct 28. 16 weeks old... And my boy who's a girl has a very red comb and wattle.... And they've been red for quite a few weeks (hence me thinking she was a he).

this is a pullet. and she's close. if she's 16.5 weeks, she should lay by 20 weeks. maybe 18.5-19 if she's squatting. shoot, I had an EE lay at 17.5+ weeks and I hadn't seen squatting at all, but she was this red - she was a couple of days shy of 18 weeks, and a few others followed suit and laid within days of the first - I was so confused because I was finding eggs in weird spots and coming up with more than the 6 known layers could produce in a 24 hour period. but this one is really really close!

Okay, the other pics were the babies. golly so cute...! those 2 in the above pic are both pullets, and the one in front is closer than the other. the other you will wait another 6 weeks for.

(I love being the Egg Carnac! I don't care if I'm dead wrong, it's fun! and so far... outside of my own December chicks... I've been scary close)

Haha!!! That one BCM must have come out of the egg already at 6 weeks old. She was huge and red at such a young age!!!! I guess I better put my straw and fake eggs in the nest box!

Lucky you! I've been wanting those dark chocolate eggs FOREVER! But I know you are still waiting on that first egg ever! Hope it comes soon!
