Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

he doesn't look one bit ashamed about it either.

11 Eggs today, with evidence of a 12th. could be a hen resuming, although I've not had soft shells from them... I'm waiting on the last Cochin and Silkie, so it's more likely to be the Cochin...

I hate irresponsible people!!!! Esp when they put you in a lose lose situation.

Jeez Louise lindz! that's insane! I'm so glad that your flock was tucked safely inside!

Yes, luckily it was only about 7:15, and I normally wait until 9ish to let them out! I like to try to lay back down after getting the big kids on the bus, and the little ones getting up! Most of the times that we have seen them has been early in the morning like that, and honestly I don't have a huge issue with that, because I know the chickens are up. But, today made me nervous because they were nosing and scratching around the door and nest boxes. It makes me really anxious to get them into the bigger coop, although the little one is really secure!

I kept the girls in the pen all day because it was snowing and I was hoping to keep egg laying to the coop. I have a feeling that Rumples is laying eggs under the toy hauler. This is the first egg from her in two weeks... although, she is still only about 34 weeks old.

But she reached POL at about 24-25 weeks. Oh well... when we go camping in the Spring, I might just find a nest of eggs. Hope not...

If he was a cat, you'd have an empty canary cage!

@lindz8504 Too bad you don't have a paintball gun. That would let the owners know what could really happen to their dogs.

That is an excellent idea! Especially effective with blood red paint.

Lindz, I know you've been trying and most people would have destroyed the dogs by now, but I was wondering if the AC has a large live trap you could borrow. That way the owners would have to pay (hopefully a lot) to get their dogs back. If reason and ethics don't get a person to change their ways, money might.

This one dog kept showing up at my parents' house, and mom would call the number on the collar and keep it safe until the owners showed up late in the day, very thankful and apologetic. By the third time, mom figured this would go on forever so she called animal control instead. Guess having to pay for the dog running loose was motivation for the owners to finally do something, and it never showed up again. (Lazy people fixed their fence. Mom checked.)
