Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Focus on what you did was right! Had you moved her early she might have abandoned the nest and you would have had no eggs. These things happen in nature so we can't expect them to not happen. I still believe the less intervention is the best which is what you did!!! You let rumples brood her chickies where she wanted to!!!

Good job Cody for letting mom know something was wrong!!!!

Ummm ouch!!! Tho the white/cream egg is Squirt's so it's a little unfair of a comparison .

I have 2 EE laying. The one is pale blue while the other is more of a green.

You are right CLindz... Cody did know that something was wrong. AND I do have a pip AND Rumples is isolated. Her chicks can hatch in peace and quite.

Definitely looks like a double yolk! pretty colors!

23 Eggs here today, but I broke one - my camera was around my neck and I had leaned over to get the egg, when I stood up, the camera whacked it.

I was so far behind on housework, I had to keep the flock in today. it was chilly and overcast anyway... but seriously, I had hours of chores. I made them a Pie Deluxe - 2 packs of Ramen Noodles, 6 diced hot dogs and soaked up all the soup stock with feed and corn and millet. that is hands down, their favorite Pie. it's funny how some go right for the meat, and some want only the noodles. I make sure the dome bantams get their fair share, and Peach wouldn't touch the hot dogs, she was all about the noodles, while Sillie Soo was chugging down chunks of meat like she hasn't eaten before in her life!

time to get back to laundry and chores upstairs. I'll bbl to catch up on pips and such!

we had a fox get into our hens this morning, it must have been a whole family as they got 8 of my hens, the rest were under the coop hiding, now i only have 21 hens not sure how they figured out under the gate, could not get under the fence, i want to get one of them light that came on to scare them away, we have a lot of red foxes here they wonder around in day light, will walk right across the street they don't care about day or night. this is only the 2nd time they got in the yard we thought we had it so they could not get in, they must have a school to teach them short cuts to entry yards.
