How adorable! They do get attached pretty quick. Had this happen with only one that hatched..in my bator. A paint SG. She/he..loves me. Even though it is now out with two others is still comes to me when I put my hand down to the ground. I had it in the house for about three weeks all alone, just me talking to her and holding her. So cute.
That is going to be a pretty little .. hen?

the chicken is the mascot of the French Postal Service. you know I'm going to bring her everywhere...

and I'm close enough to that mess that I've locked everything. it's not disrupting my sleep tho', which is good.

Still no eggs. I actually am surprised.
Reba is going to be the first broody. I can just see it. She is the first to check things out, and ... It's just the feeling I get. I am still not sure about a bigger flock, but I'll probably let it happen when the time comes.

MC, we all know how that goes, at least it's not your first go-round with chicken math...!

my baby is doing great. I woke it up at 6 to see if it would eat and drink. it did! and gave me quite a good snuggle between all my fingers, little pecks too, so sweet, then it fell back to sleep and is warm and quiet.
such a relief.

Mylee wants to call it Goldie. so it's Goldie.

she left this morning for home. I'm bereft. been crying in jags and have given myself a migraine. they were about 190 miles on when she called me, crying. saying how hard it is to leave the people you love. I was driving at the time. I had to pull over. I couldn't see through my tears.

thinking Houdini would be a better name for Goldie! so far, she's escaped from a shoe box and a 9" deep rubbermaid container and is not even 24 hours old yet!

Goldie sounds like a perfect name.....the lil' golden girl....Awww....bless your heart! Bean there, done that.....it is hard when they go home or you have to go......she'll be back soon I hope....

clearly, Goldie is happiest in the palm of my hand. that, or up on my shoulder/neck, tangled in my ponytail.

but we had fun outside. tasting grass, clover and dirt. then I found an ant. tapped it and derped. ant gone! first bug! it takes long drinks of water, but always chirps bloody murder first... basically saying, Look Ma... watch me drink. oh and you know how a chick will peck at its Mamas eyelid? yeah... I'm its Mama...
