Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

One of them has a mouth so big I can see the egg before she lays it.

My BO lays a cream egg and the BR's is a light brown.

The chicken guy at my local feed store doesn't recommend layer feed. Says he can sell me 50 lbs of oyster shell for $6, but I'd be paying premium price for the same (ground up) oyster shell in the layer food. More bang for the buck that way.

ACW, what type of dog food are you using? I thought about soaking some dry kibble for a supplement, but haven't tried it yet.

No dog food for my girls. I don't need Roger barking all day. Her peacock sister is enough to deal with..

Cat food maybe. I could handle a Meeoow.

You so funny! Hahaha. Dog food-hunters blend..on the maintainence right now but they make higher protein...and lower, check the label_don't soak it, they will peck it apart and it gives them something to do, just make sure the first ingredient on the label is NOT corn. Animal protein it should say. You can just mix it in with your regular food. Yes, save a buck, I fill a chick feeder with calcium and keep it next to the feeder inside. One little bag lasted several years....

OK they do so have ears! Silly. That little patch of feathes that would cover the ear canal. You may think your chicken is one color...but look closely and see the little flecks of color there...that will be the color of the egg.(except ee will prob be brown or black) maybe OK can tell us if chickens do in fact have tonsils?

Learn something new everyday. Tonsils? ....looks like a speaker beside the egg when she opens her mouth. And if Roger has ears she can't hear out of them. Might be stopped up with pie. I'll go check

I've heard that if your mouth is open, that closes off the ear canal, so, yeah...roger is probably deaf.

I saw Penny laying on the floor. I put her in the box, and walked away. A few minutes later, she came outside. No egg. I had offended her. About twenty minutes later, she is in the box, and someone else is on the floor. Okay. I have my 4 eggs now. Right? I wrote 4 in my journal. I am sure that is what I will get. Though something tells me ...

Five beautiful eggs. No white, AND I just heard the egg song. The babies will be 11 weeks tomorrow. I certainly don't expect anything from them for a month or two.
I guess I have a faker. Right? I mean ... I have been getting a smaller egg lately. ACW, and I assumed it was Penny. I could always go check, and put myself out of my misery.
Anyway .... I got five today!!!!!!

Got my first chocolate covered egg today. Yes......my little poop board angel decided to roll her egg in ...well....chocolate. (Well i'm trying to keep it clean as possible) Sorry honey dad will never sleep past daylight again so you can go outside at daybreak. Looks like you had help. Let me guess....Roger?

ONE......Today we rolled one in chocolate. Dads not happy but thats how we roll. He should have let us out sooner

Ha, if only real chocolate right...what a cool chicken that would be...chocolate egg...step aside cadbury! Today there was a ruckus in the he house...turned out a little roos was in there! Hey! Manners boy! I took him off the roost and he latched onto my wrist hard enough to break the skin. I wrote, BBQ, across his forehead and held him for a little while, long enough for the dog to get nosy and beaked too. Little roos got released..right in the middle of the other adolescents, mayhem ensued and he completely forgot the henhouse. Not that he could get back in there with big roos standing at the door. Chickens, always entertaining.

TWO

TWO.... Today we laid TWO! another brown, and today's green egg is different, lighter in color and it has little pink speckles... I'll have to get a picture of it later... it's so nice out finally, after 3 solid days of rain, and rain expected tomorrow through wednesday, it's going to be nice to let them out

these are my green eggs. the one on the right is the first, the one on the left is second, and the one in the center is from today... not sure what the pinkish speckles are... it's funny that the outside 2 look more brown compared to the center egg... but!

the eggs are swapped around in this picture... I put them away, then looked at the first picture and realized that they don't all look green... so I got them back out for more pictures... so #1 is on the left, #2 in on the right, and #3 is center...
it's interesting that the green eggs are getting a bit lighter everyday... I do think they are all Blu's eggs. Isis is so slender (healthy looking... don't get me wrong), and doesn't squat, has the palest pink comb...
