jchny, good to hear that your Mom is improving, and while she is in the hospital, they do have some pretty powerful anti-emetics they could use to control her nausea, but if she's home, you might want to pick up a bottle of peppermint essential oil. a couple of drops on or under the tongue really helps ~ so does peppermint starlight candies, but they are so full of sugar, that I prefer to use the oil myself... I keep it handy for a couple of the treatments I undergo. the worst for nausea is enduring 8-9 cortisone injections in my skull monthly. it feels like my skin is being flayed and when the pain subsides, I'm always very nauseated. drip drip and I'm all set to drive the hour home.
for your flock, it hasn't been very long since the feed was corrected, hang in there, they will resume. I fed my little bantam, Peach the wrong food ~ when she first got here, I finished up the chick feed and finishing feed with the new birds, but then switched to layer feed, I didn't know she was so young. I think she was only 14 weeks old before she was on layer feed, and it was 5 weeks later that I found out that she was too young! I have been so concerned that I did organ damage, but she's continued to thrive so far... she's grown, gotten nice and fluffy, has lots of energy, but zero eggs, her hatchmates are laying... doesn't mean all that much, she's on her own schedule after all... but I hope I didn't break her. while her comb has stayed a light pink, I did notice it was slightly pinker yesterday.
