So I live in an area where your not supposed to own roos, well I own one bantam rooster that crows all day long. Hes been crowing for almost a year now with no complaints since I've been putting him in the house every night until 11am so no one hears his early morning crows. Where I am I'm technically not supposed to own chickens either but I only have a few. I'm just scared that he will get all my chickens in trouble and I'll have to get rid of all of them. Is rehoming him the best option? It breaks my heart so much to think of rehoming him because he's my little bantam baby. He only has 3 hens and doesn't even get to sleep with them at night so I just need reassuring that rehoming to a better home is the best thing for him.

try using a no crow collar just don’t put it too tight. It worked for my roosters. I’m also Where you cant have roosters and the no crow collars worked. The only reason I culled my rooster was because he abused the hens. If your rooster is fine but just crows, try the collar and if you can’t then rehome or cull. Note that if you put the collar He is gonna walk backwards and bump into things and fly for a few minutes, if your worried it will hurt him you don’t have to put the collar!

Thank you for the idea but I've tried that and he hated it. I personally don't feel comfortable putting that on him. I do not judge anyone who does use it on their roos it's just not for me

I really wish I knew someone but literally no one in my family has a farm. So I was thinking of finding him a really good home on the Facebook chicken groups. That's where I've rehomed a few of my chickens to amazing homes. It just breaks my heart I wouldn't get to see him again.
It's going to be hard. You can rehome animals on BYC as well and the buyer can keep you updated on him through BYC

Living in an area where chickens are not allowed, in my view you only have two options:

  1. Move to a location where chickens including roosters are allowed.
  2. Rehome all 4 of them.
In my town you aren't "technically" supposed to have chickens, many people here have them anyway. I'm definitely not rehoming all of them, I've owned just hens here for over 11 years with no complaints, its just my first time having a rooster here

This is a good idea you should try thos first

I wouldn't risk it, especially if ypu shouldn't really have chickens. I think rehoming would be the best option, the last thing you want is having ALL your chickens being taken away.
You can try to rehome him to someone ypu know so that you can visit him

Well, this information paints a different picture of the situation.
