My hen broke her beak.
I have wet feed and a bowl of water available for her.

Right now its hurting her really bad, so she doesn't want to touch her beak to anything.

We are very gentle with our little girls and I don't know how she broke it.

I'm watching for blackening of it and smell.
Is there anything else I need to do for her?

It looks as if she just broke the tip of her beak. It should heal relatively rapidly with no permanent damage. Keep providing wet feed.
The whole top layer of her beak is broken off.
Yes, I will keep providing the feed and water 🙂
Thanks for the response🥰

It will be very tender for a few days since the nerve endings are exposed. Some mushy wet watery chicken feed and a little scrambled egg would be good when she feel like eating. Frequently chicken wire or metal fencing can be the culprit if they have been poking the beak through those, or if she is being chased.

I have mushy wet feed in the coop.

Here's a picture of the wire we use for our coop. It is possible she you could of poked her beak thru but i think she has been getting chased :idunno
