Shouldn't it be blue/green?

I love our easter eggers - they're gentle, calm & friendly. Out of our 4 hatchery easter eggers (sold as araucanas) that are old enough to be laying, 3 of them lay bluish/green eggs, and 1 lays a more olive colored green egg. Their eggs are smaller than our barred rock eggs - even though the EEs lay good-size eggs, the BRs lay huge eggs.

Cookoo Marin eggs are dark, dark chocolate brown. It will be fun to have different shades of colors in the egg basket

I have 2 EE's that lay pretty seafoam colored eggs and another 1 lays a glossy mint colored egg. I'm still waiting for the last to lay. She's a white EE but has a severe cross beak. We were going to process her when we did the cockerells, but she does very well, so she's still around.

I have three EE's. They are each laying daily. One is a blue/green. Some days it is more blue than the others. One is green and the third is olive green. My came from a local feed store that bought them from Pivett. I saw a recommendation on a thread in the spring that said to look for day old chicks with green legs if you want green eggs. I bought my three chicks the day they came in. There were probably 100 to choose from. I picked the three with the greenest legs. I also picked three that had different markings and colors in hopes of getting a good variety. I am very pleased with the three I got. The only thing I regret is not getting more. I actually had 5 of them in my box and had a really hard time getting it down to three. It was very hard to put two back. I still wish I had kept them all. When I got them I only intended to get one but decided at the last minute at the feed store to get three in hopes one would lay a blue egg. I had expected my wife to say three was too many but she said it was fine and I should have bought all 5.

By the way, the chick that was my first choice turned out to be the one that lays the blue/green egg. I had a good feeling about her the moment I spotted her.

We are considering getting about a dozen more new chicks next spring. 3 - 5 more EE's will be on the top of the list. I will make sure they come from Privett again and will be at the feed store first thing in the morning on the day they arrive so that I can have first pick. I will be looking for dark green legs again.
