Gosh, thanks! Tell him to make it bigger though. I only have 3 hens. I'm going to have to go bigger in a few years when I add more.

Thanks! This is probably its best side. The others look kinda like a kid built a lego house out of random pieces! I mostly hate that it's taken so long and been a lot of trial and error. It's shorter than we wanted because we just didn't have the right pieces and didn't want to buy any. You can't really draw up plans when you're using random salvaged lumber. I think I'll like it better when I'm a little further removed from the building process, lol. And of course after I paint it!

Mine took me 3 months! I had to re-do quite a bit, I had a picture in my head, but was making it up as I went along. I almost named it the three steps forward, two steps back hen house.

Lol! Mine has been the same way, I knew what I wanted it to look like but had no concrete plan to get there. On the plus side, I've learned a lot for next time!

That's a cute little henhouse. I like your duck pen too. I've been thinking about getting ducks, and thought something similar for nighttime security would work. I have an old igloo doghouse I'm thinking about, but need a way to keep raccoons out .

Sometimes I put chicken wire or chicken fencing on the bottom of the duck pen to keep predators from digging or snatching them

I've been thinking along the lines of a wood deck underneath, to help keep the mud down, in addition to predator control. I might put hardware cloth underneath that, to keep rats out.
