Done!Oh. Zip-tie them together...hmm.

The cattle panel pieces were long, but not very wide.
I bent them flat, and took the shorter one up on the porch. It fit just below the roof/ceiling. I placed it close to the porch support, the end on the porch slightly at an angle, so it was leaning towards the railing.
I zip-tied the panel to the railing, with the sharp ends of the cattle panel towards the porch support. I needed to use 2 ties, zipped together.
It felt fairly stable, but I used a clamp to secure the panel to the siding trim.
Another view after I added the other panels.
I cut the longer piece of cattle panel to match the other. It left a shorter length. I thought on it, briefly, then attached the shorter piece between and overlapping the others, tying the panel horizontals together with smaller zip-ties.
I didn't trim the ties. Yet.
I can add more as needed.
The panels feed secure enough, attached to the rail, each other, and on the concrete porch floor.
Ta da!
Zip ties are just great for so many things. It looks like your trellis extension is going to work just fine. One of the best things I like about using zips - other than that they are super cheap - is that if the project does not work out, you can just remove the zip ties and do something else. It does not have to be a permanent commitment.
Yeah, I have a good supply of zip ties, but at that price, I picked up a pack and threw it into the cart. I wanted to have a selection of different colored cable ties if needed. It's also nice to have different sizes. And, it's not like the zip ties will go bad with age sitting in the garage.
Every few months, it seems that Harbor Freight gives out a 100 pack of zip ties for free on promotion just for coming into the store and looking around. Look for these promotions online if you have a Harbor Freight in your shopping area. Hey, they are free just for going into the store! I already got the free screwdriver and free gloves this weekend. If I go into town today for anything, I will pick up the zip ties for free.

My brother-in-law had a shed that he had to move. I tried to talk him into moving it in all one piece. But he would have had to rent a flatbed trailer for a day to move it. So, he took the shed apart and moved everything in the back of his pickup. Unfortunately, the shed never got put back together correctly. Basically, he lost all the value of that shed.
