Show Me Your Pallet Projects!

I HAVE to ask him to lug the feed bags cos I got 2 artificial hips and am no longer allowed to carry weight over 5 kg, i CAN, but...

:old Yeah, understand. I had a tough winter and when I went to buy 50-pound sacks of chicken feed, I would ask the young guys there to load it up in my car. When I got home, I would just transfer the feed from the back of my car into 5-gallon pails about ~25 pounds each, but with a handle, and much easier to carry. At one point, that was all I could handle, and I knew it.

Thankfully, I am better now. But it left me with a greater understanding of how to work within my limitations, even if temporarily in my case. In your case, I hope you protect yourself. Good to hear you have others to help when needed.

The flip since is why get married.....since I am capable of fixing stuff and had a decent job I never got around to getting married 😂
My husband needs me for fixing stuff (repairing things) bc he gets annoyed very quick if things don’t work out the way he wants them. :gig
I love power tools. These make the work so much easier. I never had any pallet projects though and Im not a good carpenter at all. My skills are just good enough for chicken coops and fences. 😃

I haven't got any experience with power tools. I have tried using hand tools but everything gets wonky. I would like to get myself in a comfort zone to make some but for now I will just go without the beds.
My dh was never very handy. When I wanted to get chickens I knew I would be the one building things. I invested in a Milwaukee cordless drill because my dh never could locate his. I muddled through and built a hoop coop with very little assistance. And while it's not "professional", it does the job, and I learned a lot.

Then I built a second hoop coop behind the first!

Wow everyone, all of you are just so inspiring to me. I'm also going to work on building a chicken coop for my chickens and I also want to give them a really long and large run. Where the roof is I want to plant a couple of bushes for them to play in. They also smell good too so I believe that they will enjoy those. The coop though that is what's really going to be big. I'm going to try to incorporate the metal greenhouse frame so it will be a hoop coop lean-to. Yes I will post lots of pictures.

I asked an employee at the feed store if they could lug the bags into my car cos I have 2 artificial hips ( it was empty and a very small one) they said no, it was against company insurance policy 🤷🏻‍♀️ at a further away feed store, they did it without any problem, and of course I tipped the guy
I kind of married my hubby with open eyes, he can’t even change a lightbulb, let alone find, where they are ( have been at the same place for 30 years) and I didn’t mind, now, that I am not as fit anymore as I was, it sometimes is a problem, for example, someone gifted me a coop, it has to be moved to the right place, I really can’t do it on my own, since hubby doesn’t even want to touch it, it has been standing at the wrong place (where I usually hang my laundry) for the last 3 weeks, I am seriously thinking about hiring someone, but hubby hates every cent I spend on animals 🫣

with crisis and hunger coming soon don't be surprised if your husband asks you to keep chickens in your bedroom just to make sure they'll be safe.

If my husband ever tried that with me he would be so sorry. Anytime I ask him if he can do something for me he does give me a bit of attitude however he will give in to me (except for making anything out of wood), but eventually he will.

If there's a next time, ask to speak to the manager. I have a feeling somebody's telling you stories to avoid extra work ...

:clap Isn't that the real value of any project? It does the job, and as a bonus, you learned while doing.

:old On my bucket list is building a hoop house greenhouse someday. My idea is to make a wooden wall of pallets on the bottom row and then make the hoop on top of the pallet walls. Like your hoop coop, only sitting on walls of pallets waist high. I think that would be good enough for me.

Something like this picture, only smaller...
