Show me your poop boards!

A down side of the heavy removable boards is that it is a pain to scoop. And work in the winter means they are already roosting when I get home. In the summer scooping can be done at dinner time. Coop 2.0 will have to address the faults.
I clean daily...and only use about an 1/8" of PDZ.
Yes, it will all freeze...around 25°F is when I find I can't get it off the vinyl liner with my hoe scraper, just have to wait. The wetter the poops, the more it freeze-sticks.

@FlyWheel ...you're in SC?
Yeah, upper Piedmont region. Punch in the Lat/Long coordinates under my avatar if you want a more precise location.

And it rarely gets below 20F here. Also the humidity isn't that high and I like to think my coop is well ventilated. Sometimes if the poop is wet and soaks through the PDZ it can freeze to the bottom of the tray (I lined my trays with a Formica-like laminate).

I haven;t put sand on my poop board yet. I want to put sand and PDZ and I couldn't buy PDS at Farm and Fleet because they no longer carry it, so I said I'll just wait and see if the feed store carries it. Well now the poop is frozen to poop board! :he

Good news is my poop boards are working and catching plenty of poop.
Tractor supply has it, although mine does run out often as well. Are there any places near you that cater to horse owners? They use it a lot too.

They are just sold out... Ludwig in lemont usually has it... costs more
I asked at Farm & Fleet and a guy liked it up and said it's listed as "not reorderable." He said maybe they will carry it seasonally.

I just was at Ludwigs last weekend. Its a bit of a ride from me. I am going to see if Tri County Stockdale Co has it. They are much closer to me.

If you get feed at tri country, be careful
I got a bag in 2016 to hold me over. In a few days I had moths. Never had moths before... never went back either

Wow. Never had that happen. I buy feed their every two or three months. I have not had that issue. They are worth another shot if you are willing. They have been very nice and very willing to assist me with determining the best options to meet my needs.

They are very nice. They are farther than Ludwig for me and their organic cost more, back then anyway. I do go to JJC for a retiree meeting every couple of months and then they are close.
