yep mine was a grey cock and hatch hen 22-24 yrs ago. He gifted me the grey first and I cared for him for a while then was gifted the hen. For my first crosses tried and true hatch/grey. I practically lived by that man's house prolly annoyed him too but he always had time to teach.

Has your hens kicked it in gear yet?

dont fault me for them deck screws, I mixed up the synthetic decking screws. Need to get them out and replace em with regular deck screws.

nice brooders...

I cheap out and use cardboard boxes or totes.
I use totes too at first then once they get a little bigger I'll put em in the bigger boxes. Ain't nothing nice about em, just used scrap OSB I had laying around from some other project. Been using them for a couple years now. They nest together but still take up a lot of room in the shed.

Supposed to get a couple inches of snow tonight. 70 degrees next week, go figure.
On another note. I reached into a blacks pen to get an egg and that Sob broke the egg on purpose!! If his pen wasn't screwed down. I might be short another rooster. I was p*ssed. I swear he smiled at me. Lol
