Crowing
I get about an 70-80% hatch rate in my genesis. I like it pretty well, but definitely not as good as our Sportsman. I have increased my hatch rate by hatching eggs in an upright position in cartons instead of laying them on their side. I also go lower on my humidity during the first 18 days and that has helped a ton. I like to keep the humidity around 40% the first 18 days then up around 65-70% during lockdown the last 3 days. Dont wash your eggs prior to setting, dont set overly dirty eggs, and keep them turned at least daily when storing them before setting. As long as your brood fowl are fairly young and vigorous, well fed and healthy fertility shouldnt be an issue.
I have hatched a few in last 30+ years, I think this incubator has seen its best years. I regulate my humidity between 38 and 40 same as always, but my temp isn't as steady as it use to be.
