Hi everyone. I hope everyone is having a great fourth of july.
I'm looking for a couple of PROVEN, healthy* game hens near/in Oneonta, Alabama. I will come to you.
Basically need me a couple of good incubators that can also raise babies. hence the proven part.
PLEASE send a PM

I suggest you look via another medium, possibly Craigslist, to find local hens. Based on your apparent location you will have little trouble.

centra, yes I can probably find some game hens at a nearby trade day or something similar (I don't use craiglist), but then I'll end up bringing home either sick birds or birds who might not fit the bill for what I need. I've posted in 3 different local fb groups, plus I've even left a note on someone's front property gate, with details of what I'm looking for (you can see his gamefowl pens from the road). I just figured with so many game fanciers on this thread, surely someone might be able to point me in the right direction or put me in touch with someone who can help me out.

These days if someone would approach me as you have I would be inclined to show them the road.

Hens, mature hens, are something you do not just give away or even sell. I would give them to someone that I vetted over time.

Reading back over what I just posted, it seems harsh.

Proven hens are expensive and likely valued because of their parentage and offspring they might produce. Pullets are much easier to part with. If you are using hens as broodies then you do not need to be all that particular as an inclination for broodiness is a common trait to all games.

Also interest in games is declining as general public does not effort to conserve them. Using the hens as broodies is no different than feeding them to a fox as far as the breed is concerned, unless users such as your self is inclined to continue having use for such over the long term.
