Brood hens are way better than the incubator but...

I feel bad taking the chicks away from mama hens so I end up letting her raise them (or at a least a few of them). Which creates wild / untamed chickens. In my experience, broody mamas who loose their chicks on the first day or two end up going broody right away again... which can be advantageous, but I feel bad cause they are so malnurished/dehydrated by then. Is my anthropomorphism showing through again? haha


Almost all my games are hen hatched. They are tame as any. Key is how you interact with those hens. Based on what you do with crow you can have calm hen-reared birds.
 
So I picked up another rooster last night for $10... Its the brother (prob half brother) to the one I picked up a few days ago... but has nice dark legs instead of yellow like his brother.

He looks pretty darn good and high station. Has a brown red color to him, although his tail base tuft is white.
