nice looking chicks.  That hen looks cool... Looks like something @centrarchid
might have. You dont know her breed?
the breeder passed away and we can only speculate by what we think ,he took the genetics on to the great beyond so his gamefowl were left and we received two hens,, they are both true game no bigstock around , but with these two hens we do not know the lineage.

Here's a pic I took 2 days ago. Day old chick already out of the pen and was wandering off. I watched the hen for a bit. She was losing her mind since I have so many pullets and stags running loose. I couldn't leave her like that and she's too aggressive to let her run with the chicks. I put her in a bigger pen with hardware cloth with her chicks. I have let a few go like that but I don't think it's fair.
last time I let a chick stray this happened

Two hens the chick was for the one on the right. Don't worry I caught it before either got hurt. Put plywood between them

That is just a cool pic. And such dedicated mothers!

Yeah the one on the left is a dedicated Broody hen (has hatched a ton of eggs) so when the other hens chick went to her pen she immediately wanted to take it over and it was on

Nice. I moved that hen and chicks to a more secure pen the day after they hatched. She will go after cocks, stags u name it.
