A dry feed with relatively low fat content would probably work best.  A high fat/oil feed may become a little rancid, but again being vacuum packed helps. 

anything specific? It just has to keep them alive, nothing fancy. Is cracked corn oily?

Ruble/mug stag. I got 2 of em. The other stag is darker but looks good too.

Nope. Most bags would give you a nice dust cloud out of it. Ain't even worth buying.
