At some point I want a nice pen like that, a giant sized flypen. Will be used to keep the real old hen and cock.

For the older roosters or broods I don't like using fly pens or high roosts I don't want them to put pressure on the joints like that from jumping on and off so for them I have something really low for them to roost on or just let them sleep on the ground

I have never had problems with high roosts, even with older birds. Sometimes we walked some older cocks and hens around barns where birds roosted on hay ropes a good 20" above the loft floor. The barns were very big.
 
Have you ever had limb problems? We have had some really old birds that survived multiple not-butterknife fights that major physical limitations but those were do to cut tendens, ligaments and possible nerves.
