Could you post a link to rules. I have dealt with interpretations to rules many times. It is far from rare to have someone misinterpret them. Sometimes even judges get it wrong, especially when they have a lot going on.

Also apparently FL 4H banned game fowl from being shown in their state show...huh guess no OEBGs then for kiddies

IF they are followed this year we had to order our fowl in july but you can obviously tell that many of the kids birds were ordered in may or earlier. Heck some were laying in october at the show.

To ship chickens I just put them in a shipping box and bring it to the post office? Any bedding, straw? Piece of Apple or something? Paperwork? I guess I could call my local po and see just wanted a quick run down.

sdm, I put a few shavings in the box, I will put a decent size cut of apple in the box and make sure they've had plenty to eat and drink before I put them in the box. Find out what time your PO closes for the day, I take them to the PO a few minutes before closing. I don't like my birds sitting at the PO for several hours, that's my reason for waiting till the end of the day to deliver them.

OEGB will not be banned because they are games.

Admittedly that was partly jest haha, but yea doubtful they'll banned the most popular breed of all. They probably meant AG and what not but the rule is still interesting to me, wonder why it there...

. I would not be able to do it as quickly if feeding station was on the ground. You could do similar in your coop if you have room for something like a plastic 55-gal barrel positioned at side of coop. Get birds used to come to barrel for eats and get them accustomed to you being present when they do.

Interesting point Centra. Some of my birds will let me pick them up off the ground, but it is much easier if they are up just a little. The waters I have are off the ground about a 18" to keep them cleaner. Just standing up that short distance makes them calmer and easier to catch. Or if they are on the roost, any time of day, they are pretty comfortable too.
