there's not all that different than any other still just a chicken.
True. The mini blues I had as a kid were nothing special, but I enjoyed them. They didn't even compare to your blues, but I like projects and started thinking about making something worth while. When the minis are right, they are just like their big brothers, just smaller.

Good morning,

Just for argument sake if a mini is a miniature (small) version of a standard size chicken staying under 2lbs wouldn't it be a bantam by definition?
Do the breeders call them minis just to differentiate between American games and old English?

Morning,

I understand your point, but don't really understand the technicalities used to differentiate them. Most breeders I have communicated with are very clear that miniature gamefowl are not Old English and not American Game Bantams. Miniatures are simply families of American Gamefowl that have been bred down in size. From what I have read there used to be miniatures of most families out there. I think most miniatures today are closer to the 2.5-3 pound range, maybe even a little bigger. This is just my understanding...

Morning. 3 black ducks pitched in a full 15 min early
400

Just local black ducks. Bunch of
High flying flocks and thousands of Canada's but still haven't seen many ducks. Oh yeah I saw one hooded merganser but that's it. Had to break ice the whole way in.
