Fluff of a different sort. All purpose dog teaching son to drive. Dog reported son has a lead foot issue. That dog was special.

The dog was a patient mentor and great around birds. He helped me find broody hens sleeping in pasture and with policing up birds dispersed in high weeds when I was tagging. He could take down a healthy adult raccoon and if it got into a tree while we where sleeping, then he would actually come into house, wake me up, and lead me to where the other dog had critter holed up in tree. He even guarded neighbors chicken houses, two neighbors worth and had a knack for killing foxes.

Good, valuable dog. One of mine died a few weeks ago a pitbull he was 14. I'm looking for a chocolate lab pup with a good pedigree. Prices sure have went up since my last one about 20yrs ago

That was a German Pointer. He and half-sister given to us by breeder / competition hunter. The German Pointers still good for pointing even when using them as I do. Female I use on rabbits.

I have a male English Shepherd (killed a lot of good birds early on) that is finally settling into roll. Losses to land predators other than him stopped for last 6 months. Darn Coopers Hawks and owls are not easy for dogs to defend against when dogs have to stay up 24 / 7. Losses still really light.

Sorry about losing the dogs. That sucks. I've always had em and always will. I've got a 15 yr old hound that is slowing way down.
Got as a pup when I lived in Georgia.
Got some pics somewhere of her out fishing on the chatahoochee river. So hot I couldn't Keep her in the boat, as soon as I got her back in shed jump overboard again. Helluva good dog just likes to get the coffee grounds out of the trash.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like he lived a long life. If you don't mind me asking, what is the going rate for a good lab? We are thinking about getting one for our son.

around here 12-1500.00 but u gotta remember where I'm at is all about duck hunting so there's some good ones around. Also seems like the white and silver labs are popular so it's kinda hard finding a chocolate on the lower end of price. 20yrs ago 600.00 was normal
