Dobermans are awesome dogs. Not too many smarter. Don't shed, don't drool, if they bark something is wrong. I've got two males. They are the most gentle dog I've ever owned around kids. They don't like strangers though lol. I get zero people coming to my door and the mailman blows the horn for me to come out lol. They don't like the cold either

Yeah I have friends that had dobermans and they were good dogs. Does that impact your insurance?

Wow, those are some pricey dogs! I like dogs, but it would be a working dog. Hard to justify the $4800.

I pay no attention to most rules. If they bite somebody it's cause somebody broke in my house. In that case I'd just pitch em in the woods cause I doubt they'd be making it out alive. Lol
But yeah it can be an issue. Funny thing is a good Doberman is better than any alarm system u can dream up. Insurance companies should give u a discount. I do believe they ask if you have any dogs on the "list". I don't recognize their list though so it's really just a miscommunication.

To be completely honest though I lock all my dogs up when I have people over. I don't particularly want my Dobermans so friendly anybody could just walk in the door. Best thing about em is they ain't food motivated at all. You could walk in my door holding a steak out and they could care less.
They truly need to revamp that dog list anyway. Not many people even own Dobermans anymore and it's dumb*ss owners not the dogs no matter the breed.

I know two breeders that get obscene amount of money for their dogs but they come trained. First guy live in New Jersey and he raises pit bulls and has been offered a mil for his dog and he won't sell it. He been offered that several times. He trains dog professionally and trained dog from him can go 50-100 thousand. Some fed agencies actually use his dogs. Another guy by Chicago raises pure German Shepards he sold a dog to the owner of the astros I believe and I hose dogs are over ten thousand and up and those are trained as well. Both of these breeders have sold dogs a cross the world.

Edited to add so a thousand isn't that much compared to some trained dogs. That's for sure

Sounds like a bit of an exaggeration. Some trained security dogs can get up there but are bought for huge amounts by the wealthy.
For the amounts your talking if I needed to protect something that bad I'd hire armed humans.

Hey sdm I gotta guy who has some of the best duck dogs out there. These dogs not only retrieve but can also call the ducks as well. They can do a great hail call and their feeding chatter is better than the competition callers. They do slobber a bit on the call so in extremely cold weather it's best to have a few extra calls handy since a few may freeze up on them. I'll see if he's got any left. I can get you a discount. Ballpark eh around $750,000
Oh and they can also be used as a trolling motor, doing the doggy paddle.
