Our Vermont Castings was nothing fancy, but I liked the end load feature. It had a catalytic burner in it that seemed to be more trouble than it was worth. Your SS baffle sounds much more durable. The Old Timer we have now is 1/4 steel. Nothing fancy, but gets the job done!Vermont castings get way up there. Mine is steel. Buddy that thing really gets going around 650-700 degrees. The stainless steel baffle has burn tubes that rebutn the smoke particles. Doesn't hold the heat as long as cast iron or soapstone but it gets hot in a hurry.
