Vermont castings get way up there. Mine is steel. Buddy that thing really gets going around 650-700 degrees. The stainless steel baffle has burn tubes that rebutn the smoke particles. Doesn't hold the heat as long as cast iron or soapstone but it gets hot in a hurry.
Our Vermont Castings was nothing fancy, but I liked the end load feature. It had a catalytic burner in it that seemed to be more trouble than it was worth. Your SS baffle sounds much more durable. The Old Timer we have now is 1/4 steel. Nothing fancy, but gets the job done!
 
Ain't pretty but he finally lost scabs and opened up eyes. Been hand/force feeding him cheese and grapes for a week.
He sure looks rough. Is his comb dead tissue? It looks like frostbite I see around here.

I'm not keeping him. Gonna keep her. It got frigid last night it went down to something stupid like 43. I hope that isn't an indication of winter. It'll be brutal
