Ruble needs culling.
My thoughts too... As long as he can eat, drink and breed..Havoc if he's a select brood stag save him it might be worth it in the long run
I thought one was gonna make it but the next morning he was dead. Point being just cause he's alive now don't mean he won't die. Hope for the best but don't think he's out the woods. But then on the flip side I had one that was in real bad shape but had faith in him and now he is one fine broodcock. And mean as a snake lolMy thoughts too... As long as he can eat, drink and breed..

Yep I remember. It's been a sh*tty day. All I wanted to do was tie some flies. Oh wellI agree I wouldn't cull but the next 24hrs will tell
Me too I went through it what a mo or so ago it sucks bad
I thought he was gonna live, nope
I have to go pick up my son from school. When I get back I'll look him over real good and make a decision.
I've culled a bunch. The fact that he got a pen means he's worth keeping. I do have a few more ruble stags and a couple cocks. This particular stag is a lighter hackled, higher stationed bird that had to be penned a bit earlier than his siblings. I know for a fact he knocked off one spur and I gotta check his right eye
