They look nice. How many gamefowl eggs do you think you can get in the 56? It seems to me they are somewhere in size between the pheasant and duck eggs.

Capacities with standard egg carriers (approximate):

Quail: 96

Pheasant: 96

Hen: 56

Duck: 56

Hello everyone! This spring I'm looking for a breed that free ranges well, lays some eggs and goes broody. Do American gamefowl go broody at all?

They are known for being amazing broods. Every game hen I own goes broody at least once a year, usually 2-3 times a year, depending on how long they tend the chicks

Well I promised an update on that hen. She is looking way better.... thanks again guys.

Also I noticed no eggs all of a sudden after they both started laying.... so I found the nest.

Sneaky girls and as soon as the one who really wants babies realized she came running and complaining... if I could I would let her be a mamma. Poor girl, I will dispose of the eggs tonight.
