The feather plucking yes. Matter of fact that is one of the things the humane society brought up on a seize around here. The hen was broody and had a bare chest and they claimed she was in poor health. And u know the average person don't know anybody and believe their lies
Somebody needs to tell the HSUS no raids during molting season. Lol they are some stupid sumb*tches.

Flying down the average neighborhood street with zoom. I don't think the law will do much. I guess it'll stop having a drone at your window

I live in an unincorporated village so no discharge within city limits. As long as I'm 150' from a street (measured from the street center)

I had to verse myself in the law so I could shoot people's pets and be legal
I live in an AG zone so I don't have any firearm ordnances. Should see the people slow down driving by when I'm sighting in the .50 cal muzzleloader.
H*ll some days I'll be walking around toting the shotgun. Pickup trucks beep and wave but all the suvs are looking at me like I'm some kinda nutcase. I just hold up the gun like Charlton Heston.

I don't know but that's an eye opener for me. I just figured they were quitting on em or just not ready to set. I may be the dumb one after all.
I have only noticed the down feathers in the nest once they've been setting and I caught a glimpse of the nest while they were off it.
Yeah, it frustrated me the first couple of times it happened. I am not sure how or why they do it, but then I saw a post on another gamefowl forum where the person was describing the same thing and saying how smart game hens are. We have been up and down for temps and it seems like they do it when they get close to finishing the clutch. Some have done it for 2-3 nights.

I use pine shavings in elevated nest buckets, so they stay pretty clean. It is just a small number of down feathers. Maybe on purpose, maybe on accident. Maybe I spend too much time with the chickens. lol

That's funny. Years ago an animal care committee made up of university reps cited the poultry department for "moldy eggs" and failing to collect eggs in a timely manner. They were green Ameraucana eggs. lol No Joke!

I'm 35 yrs old. The most important thing I've learned so far in life.
75% of people are absolutely full of sh*t. Faking their way through life.
