Tents are for yupsters. Out here in America (where American's can be American) men build structures with their sweat and blood (and sand).

No. I actually couldn't wait to get home, to them. I dont trust my wife to watch them like I do.

yeah Its not the funnest. but the results are cool to watch. I am building sandbag dome "house" shelter. I guess its for fun because I dont "need" it... I have a house already.

I am hoping to transform the property into an oasis/farm, and the first priority was shelter... second will be water. I went ahead and planted some trees and cactus on the property and have been watering them when I go to work on it. I have the fig trees planted in cardboard tubes to keep the young trees protected until they have a chance to establish themselves. I also planted a bunch of cactus and put same tubes around the younger ones. Also a willow tree and some mule fat (native shrub), in what I hope will be a good wet spot. Covered the base with plastic to prevent evaporation.
