Damage when fighting through pens is largely self inflicted. Looser simply hurts self more.

yea I noticed that. especially the toes, nails and spurs.

I thought he said they got out though? But now that I think about it, both would have had to get out for proper scrap to occur..

The miner is ok

the miner is fine, just missing tail feathers and cut up his comb real good. The Leipers feet are shredded.

the leiper was penned by himself. Got out and had a pen fight with a miner that was penned together with a hen. My best guess is a wind gust lifted it just enough and he timed it perfectly to shoot out and under the pen. It could have been much worse or I could have been at work. So Im thankful for that at least.

Anyway you look at it its 100% my fault for not having the pens staked. Especially out in the open. I moved them out in the yard to let the other area dry out some just for a few days, cut corners and didn't stake em down.

I have two roosters that have one eye... I know your guilt.
But stuff happens. Don't beat yourself up too bad. Sounds like a freak accident to me.

Nah I know it's just annoying when you have something like that happen that shouldn't have. Not to mention the time to doctor them up. You interested in a blemished leiper? Lol
Man I'll tell ya I wouldn't think anything of it if the pen was knocked over but it was still upright. Like this gust of wind held it up and said come on out and play. Craziness! l tell ya.
