Havoc, it's a dying art that deserves to be preserved... my brother used to tie his own before a mortar tube blew up in his hand while volunteering at a city fireworks display... I thoroughly enjoy seeing your flies and your catches... now I wish I had learned from him when I had the chance... glad you are teaching your son, there's a good set of values, ethics and morals involved in all that...

Much respect...
Thanks! It's not that hard to learn, just takes patience. I learned before YouTube was popular now you can watch along and learn. Sorry to hear about your brother. I am very careful now about my hands just for that reason. Even cuts on my fingers and rough hands will screw up the thread and different materials. Main reason I don't ride a motorcycle anymore. I'm afraid of wrecking my hands.

Do you keep your left hand in a Vaseline glove like Curly (Of Mice and Men).

I dont ride as often anymore, but because I get cold.
My hands are calloused in spots where work is done (mostly from pull-ups and shoveling), but I've seen way worse on mechanic types, where they have oil laden cracks on their entire inside of hand.

Haha funny guy. No but I do use a lot of corn huskers lotion and that okeefes (green tub) hand repair cream in winter, mainly during trapping and duck hunting season. My hands get torn up. I have calloused hands too from lifting weights. No gloves. ( I'm a rebel). It's just the finger tips that have to be baby smooth. Lol

Regular scotch tape right over the crack. The egg shell was cracked but outermost membrane was still in tact. Yes it worked and was incubated. It was a hen. Had her for two years til a fox got her a few weeks back. She was a little nutty so I turned her loose. I smoked the fox so we're even.

Oh wow Tape worked.

I am going to jot this tip down if I can ever talk hubby into letting me incubate some eggs... so tempted to buy fertilized ones and stick them in my birds nesting box.. lol.

Not scotch tape but close.
