We had crazy storm hit So Cal yesterday in spots... my work got 2" in 1 hour and knocked power out (dozen power poles went down in row) with close lightening. But my house it barely sprinkled (only 30miles away).

Was 100F the whole time.

I believe I'm reading this different than you havoc. The way I read this is that a WMA permit is required when hunting on ldwf (state) land. Ref #6

Big branch is federal land (white fed vehicles as opposed to green state vehicles) which would not be under ldwf and would only require this free permit.

on a side note it reads to me if you hunt a WMA you get a WMA permit and that's ALL you need to hunt it. As in no regular small and big game. Reference#7
