Dang chickens don't have any boundaries all up in my front yard

Camp in Tioga county. 18 acres, but lots of bear passing through.

Very big bear. I'd guess almost 700#. See how small his face looks?
Beautiful up there. Shame I spend all my time in Philadelphia. I'm no expert on bears but he don't look like he's under 600 lbs.

Crazy how purpose built chickens (layers) seem to need a ratio of 1 male to 4,5,6 even 8 females as per byc so one doesn't get overbred and with the games we can pair up all day long. Granted not with stags sometimes but cocks. I think that's where alot of the trouble. Not wanting to give the layer male time to mature. It's cull, cull, cull. Anyway just a thought. But I never had layers so I'm just going off what I read

Probably because of the group breeding that hatcheries set up. Seem like only the most aggressive would end up actually breeding the hens while running off the lesser more docile roosters. Not exactly a trait that's desired in layers. The cheapest way to get numbers of chicks though.

It's kinda like a weenie of a man that would abuse his wife. Roosters run down and slide tackle every hen on sight over and over yet run from another rooster half his size. Stupid in the head from inbreeding.
