So dub'n a massive straight comb was a lot more intense than a pea comb lots of blood. Scissors did a fine job I got from TSC we shall see if it needs gone over later down the road.

To the fella asking about games start with a pair and go from there. I have bought some of my birds but I tried to find the best I could I've paid anywhere from $150-250 for cocks and up to $60 for a pullet but have also bartered for a lot. I'm right there with what sdm and havoc has said. These fellas won't lead ya wrong sdm, havoc, doubleleft, and flypen have helped me a ton and it wasn't always with An attitude of lollipops and puppies.

Proper housing and husbandry is critical with these birds pretty don't mean nothing. You got to be all in and able to accept and comprehend constructive criticism and not get all butt hurt if someone offends you it's for the best for the birds. That's all we (I) am worried about is the birds care and reputation.
True... Pretty show feathers and Color shouldn't be important. Go for the other traits that make Gamefowl.

Handle them for muscle density and bone size...

Dont buy the chicken that someone offers you... (its probably one they dont want)... go for one that looks coveted and ask about that one.. you'll probably build better rapport with breeder and maybe get something from his personal collection.

These are what I used for the warhorses straight comb cut real well.

I thought that yesterday using my small pair of sharp scissors that are surgical in nature but used for many years for various animal uses...from it's original use as part of a college dissection kit...though never needed it in dissection labs...go figure... But I held on to all of that kit and these scissors have gone on to be used for a lot of things. But anyhow, worked really well for me two years ago when I dubbed the previous game rooster I had. I don't recall having any trouble at all. Yesterday when I did my current boy, I thought, sheesh, this seems harder than I recall it being! But it got the job done. But I think it's time for a new pair! Or in this case, perhaps see what others are using like you've done here. Wonder why more don't use the bigger scissors?
