I sold all my Bates hatch last year but this old hen and this 3yr old, my wife claimed them when one came spangled.

Gotta start getting ready for the breeding season. A few of my boxes are rotting out so a few of those I'll make but most will be using buckets. Guess the thread will be ramping up here shortly. Good looking fowls flypen.

After Christmas it ain’t supposed to get above freezing for at least a week probably more. Lows in the single digits. Breeding season! Ha! Long ways off unless you want those real long legged birds.

@sdm111 see how foggy it was in my pics earlier? I didn’t make it back to my truck this time but I missed my spot by about 60 yds. Fog didn’t burn off til almost 9:45. Took me til about 8 to realize just where I was. The fog off the coast there is crazy. So thick I couldn’t see my son at the other end of my little canoe.

Some friends of mine built barns to hold their broodfowl during the winter months so they could add light and control some of the temperature for them. They raise 500 plus stags every year.

dang guess you didnt get a shot off. thats crazy. it rained here this morning had a cool front come through. temps been dropping will stop at around 55 for day and mid 40s at night
