Yup Ima make plenty.
I want as many RH as Hatches, I'll set them all up separately and single mate them.
One pair from my hatches. Keep Pullets from my Warhorse over 1/2 butcher 1/2 McLean and my Kelso over 3/4 Gilmore 1/4 hulsey i plan to line breed these back to father one or two more times we'll really until I'm happy (maybe less maybe more) and continue with those for aslong as I'm around. I can't wait to have em on my own land instead on my inlaws that may be a year or two out, but I'm only 15mins away from them give or take. I don't really think I'll need new blood with them two anytime soon but I plan to cull most by 5-7months and keep only the best which will be a very low % of what gets hatched I've got plans all wrote down in depth but that's the jist of it.

I sold all my Bates hatch last year but this old hen and this 3yr old, my wife claimed them when one came spangled.

dang guess you didnt get a shot off. thats crazy. it rained here this morning had a cool front come through. temps been dropping will stop at around 55 for day and mid 40s at night

I never said I didn’t get a shot off lol. I missed a few but my son won’t sit still lol I’ve yet to get any in real close. That’s ok though I knew that going into it this year. More about getting him out and into the outdoors. Frustrating yes but it’s worth it in the end.

No sir, I'm not as agile as I use to be, getting older and slower. They're incredibly fast and strong, but about half the cocks would turn on you just as fast as they would another cock. They just got to the point to where I was tired of having to catch them with a net, most of my broodfowl don't get handled that much so they would get mean. Once I got one in my hands they were good lol you better not miss on the first attempt.

You should see what my gear looked like. Low tide right after I set up. Almost snapped my ankle in the waist deep mud. Canoe is still in the back of the truck covered in marsh mud. All while my son is giggling as I’m picking up decoys. Kept repeating “merry Christmas sh*tters full” and laughing like a hyena. I let him slide though. Any 5 yr old that gets up at 4 am to go hunting gets a pass even if it’s because he knows we’re gonna stop for munchkins.

I’ve got a couple like that. It’s a good thing I don’t carry a 22 pistol when out in the yard. I might only have a few birds left.
