I put an Eaton posi, new bearings and new gears about 5 years ago. To me it sounds like you broke a tooth in your locking gearsI'm afraid Im going to have to put some gears in the rearend of the silverado. Either that or a transfer case wish I had a lift. Ain't no play in the pinion and driveshaft but could be internal I'll have to pull the pumpkin and take a look see, it's grinds from the rear and it's not consistent it comes and goes and at maximum of 5secs does it mostly if I'm turning and have the chassis flexed or hit a bump sounds just like a starter sticking but from the rear. I've heard the crap rotor assist design parking brake lock for the shoes can cause a similar issue. I'll dig into it here after the holidays.
That's sounds a lot like my hatches. Not man fighters, but they turn on me if I'm jumbling around trying to catch or pin them down. Handling them is easy but they're like catching a feral animal. No sir, I'm not as agile as I use to be, getting older and slower. They're incredibly fast and strong, but about half the cocks would turn on you just as fast as they would another cock. They just got to the point to where I was tired of having to catch them with a net, most of my broodfowl don't get handled that much so they would get mean. Once I got one in my hands they were good lol you better not miss on the first attempt.
