hit the nail on the head there.Louisiana easing some of the nonresident requirements for pigs might not help a whole lot for the numbers but it would surely bring in some additional revenue.
Anything hunted much will disperse to different areas. Aren’t many animals that tolerate much pressure.
I think the main issue with Louisiana’s pig problem is the terrain. Doubt there’s enough people that want to slog through snake infested swamp to kill a pig that dont taste so great. Then getting the animal out of there is a separate issue.
Lol. It wouldn’t be too popular I know that. There would be so many critics. Keep going the way they’re going and there won’t be any deer left in certain areas in Louisiana. Short term loss for long term gain but the attitude of most will prevent it from happening anyway. I don’t blame them either.Stop baiting!! Oh no not happening. Them biologists think they know it all
Very true. That was also part of the articles I read. It’s a perfect area and that’s why they are so abundant. I still think the fish and game underestimates the draw for northern guys to come down after our seasons are over and it’s cold as hell to chase pigs. Overall it’s like a perfect storm. Soft ground, plenty of water, warm temps, rapid breeding, additional food being dumped, taste like sh*t. LolReally though I don't think plots is gonna exacerbate the problem much. The land is filled with stuff they can eat and nutrient rich stuff too not brown twigs. Especially since wildlife and fisheries does controlled burns every year. Stuff is green and tender. And it's nothing for them to root in this satuarted ground
