No he's molting so I leave him be for now he was a late July early August chick I got in on a trade. Actually the one that got out and went mia for a bit as a biddie.

And yeah he's came along way and he is a pretty bird but that in itself isn't enough I will give him time I've feed him for this long might as well see it through.

He was born this past July - aug and he’s molting already?
 
It’s not unheard of. I sent a pullet to a guy and she molted around her first fall/winter. Her sisters didn’t molt til the end of summer the following year.

As old as he is, I would wonder if it is not a pea comb of sorts. Or maybe he is just a slow maturing bird as I remember some of his early pics. Was either of his parents pea comb?

Here's him and his Mother together before they started fighting his sire was trimmed and going off memory I haven't a clue about his comb.

And she reminds me of an OEG.
