its a perineal hernia. Checked another place and same price.

Might take a road trip to Dr. Jeff in Colorado.
These places around here are crazy. My cousins wife is a regular vet and she said about the same. She can’t do it though anyway. Can’t even tell the difference between a rooster and a hen. (True story). Apparently they don’t get much bird training as it’s specialized.

Oh and I meant to respond to centras post about establishing a darter post.
Once upon a time I was checking beaver traps. I came up to a few juvenile Redfin pickerel in an area flooded out by beavers. Looked like they washed over the dam and onto a trail. Couldn’t get back. I did what any true sportsman would do and fished for em. Nah I saved 4 of the little guys. Put em back in the main pond.

That's what I thought, but different areas so ya really can't compare.
