I can see it. My doors are much bigger so that I can get in them to clean. (4x8). Mine are obviously much more flimsy than yours. Makes sense.

All I need on the 4x4 pens is getting a nest hung inside and a few have a waterer inside. I use a ladle spoon taped to a long broom handle to retrieve my eggs. I'm able to crawl in them

I use a decoy retriever with the hook on the end.

I'd love to see a picture when you get a chance to go back out. I like the heck out of my big spoon because I can get the egg out of a nest up high on their roost.

Your spoon is probably better for that. The hook works great for getting eggs when they misfire in the middle of the pen.

Do you think that style would be coon safe with a smaller wire mesh, say 1/2". I know Havoc has electric, and perhaps you do too flypen?

LMAO misfire! I have one hen that will NOT lay a egg in a nest.

I have them twisted around the main wire and then latched back to the main wire trapping 2 of the wires from the door and it's spring loaded from the pressure of the door wire. If you have the room in your wire door to swing a latch you should be ok. The latch having pressure from the door wire is the only way to keep them from popping open. I also have a electric fence.
