Two games in with 5 American Dominiques. Games are out of one of my hens and a dom cock acquired from someone else.

Something major wrong with internet here. Having to upload all by phone.

We have had a few nice days and the first hatch of the season had it out today. The stags decided they were no longer friends today...right on schedule at about 7 weeks old.

I remember a couple years back being made fun of for having chickens on / in a truck.
Wasn’t me was it? I can’t keep them off it. It’s all scratched up. I don’t really care anyway. I just can’t keep my windows open or they’ll lay eggs on the back seat.

Add an older stag or cock to mix and that will suppress that issue.
Centra, I have tried that and it doesn't seem to matter. I let the hens and chicks out to forage each morning and a calm cock that is good with everybody.

I confine juveniles with single older male 24/7. If only a short duration exposure were to work, then it would be as birds come off the roost. Take time observe what happens as something very related to pecking order takes place at that time.

Or just turn them loose when they start fighting.

Mine keep going unless some sort of intervention. Often with no older males to disrupt, they will also start fighting even when free-range. Video I posted a few years back involved free-range brood that were battling it out in drive way when I got home from work. They gave signs in morning that something was up.
