I had a couple grow with their tail to the side I was told it was from tight inbreeding they got culledHe looks nice from the side. Tail to the side is a new one for me. Not saying I don't believe it, just haven't heard it. Anyone else? I had a stag like that a couple of years ago. It just came up that way, so I culled him.
That is what happened to the one I had. It was a rather quick transition and a stag I really liked. I don't recall him losing weight, but the tail did not not correct. Maybe I culled a stag that just needed wormed...Thats the thing, he's the only one, cant be inbreeding because he's a Radio Hatch cross. His tail wasn't sagging a mere week ago.
I would cull him too. Especially if he was the only bird that was showing signs. I treat all birds the same so if I have 10 birds and one is slower to grow, seems a tad weaker, etc than the rest he’s gone. Simple as that. That is what happened to the one I had. It was a rather quick transition and a stag I really liked. I don't recall him losing weight, but the tail did not not correct. Maybe I culled a stag that just needed wormed...
